Where do you get FREE product coupons?

After many viewed my shopping trip yesterday, I started getting the same questions in my inbox.

Where did you get all of those FREE product coupons?
I try and make a habit of requesting coupons from manufacturers for the items that my family uses and items that go on sale regularly. Keep in mind that sales cycle.
For example, Simply Potatoes are on sale now and they will go on sale again in a couple weeks more than likely. Most sales cycles are 6-8 weeks. I have requested Simply Potato coupons in the past. I actually received cents off coupons and FREE product coupons. So request your coupons now and save them until the next sale!

How often can I request product coupons from one manufacturer?
Each company's policy is different. You may have to wait up to 3 months to a year--just depends on the company. Ask when you request your coupons--What is the wait time to request more?

Who do you contact?
On a manufacturer's website you will usually see Contact Us. I send an email or call the phone number on the site.
You can also check product packaging for this information.

What do you write?
Usually along the lines of...I am doing my best to conserve our family budget using coupons on the products we love. Could you please send me coupons for my next purchase? Or if it's a new product--I have never tried your product but would like to using coupons for my purchase. Simple enough.

Does every company mail out product coupons?
Nope. But it does not hurt to ask. It really does not take much time to do so.

Do they all send out FREE product coupons?
No, you may receive cents off and/or FREE product coupons.

During the month of September I ran a series called Bargain Buggy Mail, which told which product coupons I received that week and linked to the company contact information. You can check it out here.

You can also join word of mouth marketing sites like VocalPoint to get free samples, coupons and more!
