Planning to go first thing in the morning as that is when I believe the ads will be out in the paper. The sale starts at 9 and the ad is online under Mobile's zip code so if its not in my paper I will stop by Toys R Us and request a copy and then ride across the street to Target! :)
You could donate the toy to a toy drive for Christmas.
The Toys R Us ad specifically states that the sale price is valid Friday from 3 pm until midnight and Saturday from 7 am until 1 pm. I would imgine that Target will be looking for this. :)
I went to the Target on Shillinger in West Mobile, and they would not honor this sale. They said they do not match time snsitive sales such as the toys r us 2 day sale. Many of us argued with them about it, but in the end, they won. It's a no go!
I was told by a Target employee that they won't price match on a limited time only sale. :(
I wrote on your FB too. Target is not matching this because their policy states that they do not match special sales such as door busters or 2-day sales. I was at the Service Desk with 4-5 other mama's and we discussed the point and they wouldn't budge. Most of us put ours back.
No luck here either. The manager stated they would either honor the coupon or price match, but they cannot combine them.
I tried this at Target on Schilinger in Mobile. Guest Services showed me the store policy in writing that says they will not match an ad for a time period shorter than the regular weekly ad for any competitor. So, that means 2 day, 3 day, 12 hour, etc special sales they are declining to match prices. Just wanted to pass this along so you can know before you go.
My husband went for me with the policy in hand to the one at the mall. They were scrambling to come up with a reason to not accept it and told him they don't price match "precentages." So he showed them the policy and that it did not say that, went through it with the manager and then the manager contacted corporate. My husband was standing next to him when the manager on the phone said, "What do you want me to tell him?" They told him that their policy is an "internal" policy and not a "corporate" policy and that it was now a corporate rule. So basically (and my husband said this), The public policy is what we want to hear but they can do whatever they want or try to. So my husband wrote WKRG about how they were not sticking to their policies given to the public. What it comes down to is the deal was too good and they had to get a way out of it.
I have to say that I find it quite interesting that Target released an "updated" version of their price matching policy mid-day after everyone began trying to price match this toy.....
