Good Evening. What beautiful weather we have had today! Notice that it is a little quiet on the blog today? Well, I have been working on my Publix coupon match ups. BIG trip this week! More details to come. My Publix trip pics will be posted Friday this week. A little change up.

So this is a GREAT week to start shopping at Publix! How is it going out there? Newbies? What do you think of Michelle's match ups(I HEART PUBLIX)? Talk about a time saver. See a lot of the work is done already!

Okay, so where am I in my prep process? Coupons are clipped and in an envelope. I know pretty much what will be on the list. Now late tonight or tomorrow you can view our local ad online at Publix.com. This will give you the local prices. In addition, make sure to use the "my grocery list" feature. I print my list from Publix.com every week.

Questions? Ask away!

What is Stacking?

This is what stacking looks like for all of you visual people out there.
Stacking is using 1 store coupon plus 1 manufacturer coupon on 1 item. 1-1-1. Some select stores allow stacking. Check the store policy wherever you shop.

Below is a stacking example for Publix:
Buying 2 Pillsbury rolls, 2 cans of Progresso soup.

Coupon Breakdown:
2 Pillsbury Rolls -(2)$1/1 printable manufacturer coupon +/(STACKED) with (2) Publix $1 off Pillsbury when you buy Progresso soup.
2 Progresso soups-(1) .50/2 manufacturer coupon from paper

Stockpiling 101: Freezing Tips for Basics

Freezing items is a great way to take advantage of cheap prices on the basics-bread, milk, cheese & butter. Stockpile those staples!

Milk can be frozen for up to three months safely.
Butter can be frozen six to nine months.
Cheese can last up to three months in freezer.
Bread (depending on how well it is wrapped) can last a couple of weeks.

Just good tidbits to know when a sale comes along on these basics. (Like the butter on sale now at Publix!)

Walgreens: NEW October Coupon Booklet

Be on the look out for the Walgreens October Coupon booklets. They are usually found at the front of the store with the sales ads.

Bargain Buggy Minute: Pick One.

Just getting started? There is a lot of information on the site.
My tip: Start with one store. I started with CVS--then added Walgreens--then Publix, etc...When I felt like I had figured out one store, I would add another. Trying to tackle all five stores at once may be tough when you are just starting out. Try picking one!

Target: New Coupons!

Did you know that you can use a Target coupon(like the ones below) and stack it(use it) with a manufacturer coupon on one item? This is all part of Target's coupon policy.
In addition, we are pretty lucky that the Publix in Fairhope accepts Target coupons too. Wow, I know! Use the Target $1/2 General Mills coupon below with this Cheerios deal and get 2 boxes and a reusable bag for $1. Great, isn't it!

Target has released a new set of coupons that can be printed HERE! Once on target.com, click the red print button to select the coupons that you wish to print.

NEW Coupons include:

***These can be found in the new blinkies in most CVS stores-Mobile (Schillinger), Fairhope locations have these. No blinkies @ CVS in Midtown (FL St.) Blinkie machines are little black boxes on shelves that spit out coupons(usually they blink).

*Scan your CVS card first. You can get one FREE at the register.

*Check your coupon stash. You may have $1.50 coupons. I recently received a $1.50 q in a Gymboree postcard. Oprah, Parenting and Good Housekeeping August & Sept. issues have these coupons as well.

*Limit is one deal per card. I worked this deal twice because I have two CVS cards (mine & my husbands)

If you are new you might be thinking to yourself--buying Tide at a drugstore?!? Aren't drugstore prices marked up? You are right if you are buying non sale items. On the flip side, the drugstores can be a bargain finder's dream. You have to buy when the price is right. The game is called strategic couponing. Gosh, I love it!

This is what the $1/1 Tide Stain Release coupon looks like. You can find them in SmartSource blinkie machines. CVS just started putting these blinkie machines in their stores. Mobile (Schillinger) and Fairhope CVS locations have these.

So I now have 14 bottles/bags of Tide(.86 each) and another bottle of shampoo(FREE). Never too much stain remover with kids in the house!
