Go ahead and check out the complete Sneak Peek PUBLIX ad for this week(starts Wednesday). Michelle over at I HEART PUBLIX has the complete matchups. Matchups are matching available coupons to what is on sale--tough stuff. Having this already done saves a lot of time!!! You will see a lot of coupon matchups--different areas get different coupons. You may only use one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per item. She lists all available coupons--so do not get confused--you can not use all 5 coupons that you see under an item. :) Our local prices will be slightly different.

BIG THANKS to the Publix moderators at Hot Coupon World who are AWESOME at getting the ad up early!!!

FREE Cottonelle Toilet Paper

Glad to see the $1/1 Cottonelle coupon is back. I have used it in the past to score FREE Cottonelle 4 roll packs at WalMart.
Go HERE and take the pledge to get your $1/1 coupon.

Thanks Eastern Shore Mom for the heads up that this coupon was back again!

MY CVS SAVINGS 8/30/09

Not much for me at CVS this week...I did stop by and get the FREE Glade soy candle.
Glade Scented Reed Diffuser or Soy Candle $6.99, Get $6.99 in ECBs back...So FREE! Make it a MONEYMAKER by using the $3/1 coupon HERE, enter zip code 90210!

What does "FREE/MONEYMAKER" after ECBs mean?
Candle rang up at $6.99 with CVS card. I used a $3/1 manufacturer coupon from above and paid $4.62(includes tax) out of pocket. Then on the bottom of my receipt an Extra Care Buck(CVS money) printed out for $6.99. So I made $2.37.
ECBs can be used to purchase anything in the store before the expiration date.

I bought the larger 10 oz candle that was included in the sale. I also used my FREE handsoap coupon(emailed to me from CVS) that expired today.

Limit is 1 per card for the Glade candle/diffuser.

WHAT'S IN THE BUGGY?
8 boxes of AJ pancakes (FREE using $1/2 Manufacturer coupon from paper(8/16 Smartsource) stacked with $1/1 Publix Toss For Cash coupon)
5 Ken's Marinades ($0.40 each after using the $1/1 coupon in 8/2 Smartsource)
4 boxes of Mrs. Paul's fish (FREE if you printed out the $3 coupon HERE and $1/1 Publix coupon from Toss For Cash booklet!
4 McCormick Grinders (FREE after using $1/1 Nothing Goes to Waist McCormick coupon)
4 bottles of Sundown Vitamins (FREE using Advantage Buy coupons)
3 DelMonte fruit cups 6 pk. ($0.26 after $1/1 printable HERE)
3 General Mills cereal cups (FREE using Target coupons HERE under Target tab)
2 gallons of milk ($2.89)
2 dozen eggs (.99)
2 lbs of bananas (use .50/1 lb coupons HERE under Target tab)
2 Accu Chek Meters (FREE after $10 coupon from paper)
1 Tyson Skillet Dinner(FREE after REBATE and $1/1 coupon HERE!)
1 Publix sugar
1 Oust (FREE coupon from company, See HERE)
1 pack of ground beef
1 Reusable Publix bag (FREE WYB 2 General Mills cereals peelie)

I used 3-$5/$25 off coupons. I qualified to use 4 but seriously did not mind paying $2.96 for all of these groceries. We are fortunate that the Publix in Fairhope allows us to use this many $5 off coupons. I understand that people could just break up their transactions into $25 purchases...But being allowed to use them all in one purchase is really nice. Almost too nice. So I am loving it while it is around! Just always make sure that your purchase amount adds up to the qualifying amount on the coupons. For example, using TWO $5 off $25 coupons, make sure that your purchase amount is $50 or greater.

I am submitting for 1 rebate out of this purchase--Tyson Skillet Meals. Hopefully, I will get back the $4.99 price...which would make all of these groceries FREE plus some!!!! :) I purchased the Accu Cheks, and quickly read over the rebate information. Since they were already FREE I am thinking that the rebate would not work....not trying that one.

Just getting started? Read PUBLIX 101 HERE!!!

Bargain Buggy Mail 8/27/09

My coupon requesting campaign is in full swing. My goal is to write at least one company a day requesting coupons. And then once a week(Thursday) report back to you what I have received that week--along with the links so you can request coupons as well. I have been writing companies on and off requesting coupons for awhile now...Some of the best coupons I have received have come straight from the company. A lot of times they even send me FREE product coupons!!! Sometimes a company just does not mail out coupons for whatever reason.

What do I write when I request coupons? If I have tried the product before and liked it, I may send them a note of product praise and ask them to please send me a coupon to use on my next purchase...If I have never tried a company's product, I may write that I would like to try it using a coupon to purchase. Really it just takes a couple of minutes.

So I started writing at least one email a day last week...And just look what I received in the mail today...All at once!!!! Maybe the mailman knew I needed a little something in the mailbox for me today! :)

Woeber Mustard 6-$0.25 off coupons for Woeber's sandwich pals mustard, no exp.
Eggland's Best 1-$0.50 off coupon for eggs and a cookbook!
OUSTFREE 10 oz OUST Air Sanitizer or Glade Car Scented Oil Refill up to $3.75, exp. 8/31/10 AND a SC Johnson coupon book worth $19.55!
Knouse 3-$0.50 off any Lucky Leaf product, 1-$1.00 off Lucky Leaf product
VIVA 2- $0.50 off any one Viva paper towels, exp. 3/31/10
Eckrich2-$1.00 off any 1 Eckrich product, exp. 6/30/10
Henkel1-$0.35 Coast product, 1-$0.35 Tone, 1-$0.35 Dial, 1-$0.35 Right Guard, 1-$0.35 Soft & Dri, $1.00 off Pure and Natural, exp. 2/24/10

CVS FREE Product Coupon via Email

I can not wait to work on my post for tonight...But to hold me over, here is another fun, frugal find. I just received a CVS FREE product coupon in my email!!! FREE hand soap for me thank you! If you have not registered at CVS.com, you really should...They email out $5/$25 coupons quite regularly...and now FREE product coupons!
My coupon was a choice between CVS hand soap and Gold Emblem nuts...expires 8/30. No other purchase necessary. Will pay tax.

Target Coupon Policy

I recommend printing this out and keeping it somewhere handy when you plan to use coupons at Target(especially in Mobile). In the past, I have had problems with Target taking coupons that were for $1 off a product that was priced at $0.99. However, here it is in black and white, Target can simply adjust the coupon down. Also note, they do stack manufacturer coupons with Target store coupons, which you can find here under the Target tab.

TARGET COUPON POLICY

Thanks for asking us about using coupons at Target. Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it's easy to use them at our stores. Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.

When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:

- We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued and manufacturer-issued.
- We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
- We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in this case, we're able to adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
- We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
- All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.

For questions about using a specific coupon, we encourage you to stop by the Guest Service Desk and ask to speak with the Guest Service Team Leader. They'll do their best to help while you're in the store. If you still have questions after speaking with them, please call our Guest Relations team at (800) 440-0680. Either way, we're here to help!

We appreciate the opportunity to share this information with you.

Sincerely,

James

A PEEK IN THE TOILETRY CABINET--Stockpiling Part I

It was time to do inventory on my toiletry stockpile. So here is a picture of items I stockpile--my very own store.
This is an example of the items that you can get FREE or for a couple cents...Razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, bodywash, mouthwash and more! If you do not shop CVS and Walgreens sales--It's time to start!
Now there are a couple items that I am going to load up on today(free toothbrushes at Walgreens)...and other items that I will be on the look out for deals on...
I am not brand loyal--I use whatever is on sale. But as you can see from the picture above, I am getting brand name items.

Would you be interested in a Bargain Buggy Couponing Class?

Readers,

I know that sometimes reading all of this coupon jargon can be somewhat overwhelming. Some folks(including myself)learn better by actually seeing it. So here is my crazy thought--Would anyone be interested in a coupon class?
Small(about 6 people per class) $15 which would cover all of the couponing basics-terminology, where to find coupons, organizing coupons, store policies, a chance to pick my brain(how I'm saving 81% on groceries!!!), etc...and materials.
Locations would be in Mobile and surrounding areas.

Just a thought...If you would be interested email me

Publix 101--The Basics

Remember if you have a question is it always a good idea to ask customer service.

Local policies as of 10/19 (subject to change). Each Publix store coupon policy may vary based on local manager's discretion.

HOW TO GET THE BEST DEALS AT PUBLIX-The Coupon Basics

1. BEST DEALS ARE B1G1s or sale items: You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items to get the sale price.
Items ring up 1/2 and 1/2 (Fairhope and Orange Beach).
Example--Chips are $2.00 on sale B1G1. So first bag will ring up $1, and second bag will ring up $1. I could just buy 1 bag and they still would be $1.

2. COMPETITOR COUPONS: Publix in Fairhope and Orange Beach accept competitor coupons(Target, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, local grocery stores including Bruno's, Winn Dixie).

3. STACKING: You can use ONE PUBLIX/or competitor coupon and ONE manufacturer coupon per ONE item. So, a max of TWO coupons(one manufacturer and one store coupon) per item. This is called stacking.

4. DOUBLES: Orange Beach and Fairhope Publix locations do NOT double manufacturer coupons. Some Publix stores do double coupons that are .50¢ or less.

5. DRUGSTORE COMPETITOR COUPONS: Fairhope location will accept drugstore coupons as competitors(CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid). Orange Beach will accept drugstore coupons. These coupons must be actual cents or dollars off of a product. No price matching "coupon". You can read more here.
Now this may be helpful if you happen to receive a $5/30 or even a $10/50 at CVS. These CVS coupons are found on the bottom of your receipt, CVS emails, or price scanners where you can scan your CVS card for additional coupons. THEY DO NOT TAKE CVS ECBs. ONLY $5 off purchase amount coupons.

Walgreen's Rebate Rewards, which are manufacturer coupons printed at the register are also accepted. You can use these to pay!

6. USING $/$$ OFF COUPONS: (Spend $30, Get $5 off). Only allowed to use one $/$$ at the Fairhope store. The Orange Beach Publix store will accept ONE $/$$ coupon from local drug stores/local grocery store AND one from Publix. Check the list below for current $ off.
Remember always hand these coupons to the cashier first and then your other coupons.

FREE/Cheap Mrs. Paul's fish sticks/fillets!!!!

Hi Friends!

We may just have ourselves a good deal on frozen fish! Go ahead and get this $3 Mrs. Paul's coupon printed out asap!!! It is high dollar and will not last long. Go HERE--enter the zip 30013!!!! I could print it twice by hitting my back button.

There is a $1/1 Publix fish coupon in some of the Toss For Cash Publix coupon booklets. There are TWO versions of this coupon book(some do NOT have the fish coupons). Vary by region. If you find it in your area please leave a comment below! :)

You can stack the the $1/1 Publix fish coupon with the $3 printable manufacturer coupon and get cheap fish. If you are unable to get the Toss For Cash book, the manufacturer coupon should still give you pretty cheap fish. Price at the Publix in Fairhope is $4.49-$4.99. So that means .50-.99 for a box for frozen fish if you have both coupons.
Let's hope for a sale to get it FREE!!!

I have not seen these books in Fairhope--that store may not get them because they are still so new. Orange Beach possibly??? If you find them there please leave a comment.

I am lucky enough to have a best friend that gets some of these booklets for me! But you can also find them on ebay. I would just search for the cheapest price(watch shipping). I have also done some trading on I HEART PUBLIX(her left side bar). If you have some good coupons you may be able to trade someone for a booklet. This has worked in the past for me.

I'll be working this deal as soon as I get these Publix coupons in my hands!

MY PUBLIX SAVINGS 8/19/09

So I took last week off--and boy, I was ready to go today!!! :) This is a really GREAT ad. I think that I have stressed that enough now.

My best savings trip! Spent a little more--saved even more. :)
I bought A LOT of food!

I have tried to go back and add most of the coupons that I used on my trip. I use newspaper coupons, Publix publication coupons, printable coupons, mailings, etc...I used 1-$5/50 Publix and 1-$5/25 CVS. It has always been my understanding that 2 is the max amount of $5 offs that you are able to use. I have a link for $5 off coupons in the right side bar or HERE. You can find the printable links at I HEART PUBLIX.

Order total $27.79
Sales Tax $9.73 (that's a lot of tax!!!)
Grand Total $37.52 (I was able to pay some of that balance with a $10 ConAgra Publix Rebate gift card!)

TOTAL SAVINGS $209.10
Saved 85%! $246.62 in groceries for $37.52!

WHAT'S IN THE BUGGY?
6 Taco Bell Dinners* (5-.75 peelies on boxes and 1-printable)
6 boxes of Eggo Waffles, 16 pk.** (6-$1/1 coupons that I won)
6 boxes of Uncle Ben's Rice (1- $1/2 coupons from paper and printable)
4 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios (4-.55 printable, 4-Target $1/1 General Mills printable)
4 jars of Ragu sauce (4-.55 Raise Your Hand Unilever book)
4 bottles of Shout (2-B1G1, 2- .55 paper man. coupon)
4 boxes of Lipton tea( these are very small) ($1/1 Raise Your Hand Unliever book)
3 packages of Yoplait Fiber One, 4 pk. (3-$1.35 mailing coupons)
3 boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese (B3G1 Free)
2 Edwards Single Pie Slices (2-$1/1 printable)
2 boxes of Cheez-its (Whole Grain is included) (2-.75/1 printable)
2 bags of Beggin Dog Treats (2-$1.50 printable)
2 bags of fresh Eat Smart veggies (2-.50 from mailing)
1 bag of Kingsford charcoal, 18lb (2.00 off charcoal printable)
4 loaves of Cole's Garlic Toast (4-.50/1 printable)
1 Kraft Velvetta Cheese (1-$1/1 out of area newspaper)
1 McCormick Pepper (1-$1/1 Nothing Goes to Waist)
1 5 lb bag of baking potatoes (allowed to use Target Green Giant $1 coupon to buy Publix brand since they did not carry GG brand-ASK permission!)
1 container of Kozy Shack Pudding (.55/1 June All You)
1 Glad Straws (.75/1 off Glad product printable)
1 box of Knox Gelatin (printable)
1 dozen large eggs(.99) (no coupons)
2 pears, 2 apples, 1 bunch of bananas, 1 orange (2-Target coupons for apples and bananas)
6 Sundown vitamins (Advantage coupons)
1 pack of Pork loin chops(little over $6.00) ($6 pork printable WYB charcoal and qualifying product)
1 pack of ground turkey($2.99)(no coupons)
1 whole turkey(on sale for .99 lb, no coupons-bought $7.13 turkey)

*HINT: Buy the Taco Bell dinners that include soft shells, hard shells, seasoning, salsa and Kool Aid for an even better deal! I use the hard shells/seasonings for taco night dinner...and the soft shells to make sandwiches for the girls. So a couple meals out of that one box!!! There are also .75 peelies on some of the boxes.

**NOTE: Thanks to a sweet follower who spotted the Eggo waffles in my buggy(I was about to buy the wrong ones!) The 2/$4 Eggo waffles are the large 16 pk box!!!

I did not split up my trip into a bunch of different transactions...it is just too much trouble on everyone's part. But if I would have I would have saved a little more because I could have used a bunch of $5/$20 coupons. On this trip, I used one Publix $5/50 and one CVS $5/25.

I keep looking back at my receipt--thinking gosh it seems high(compared to my $10-$20 trips)--BUT I keep reminding myself that I DID buy a turkey($7.13), charcoal($4.99) and ground turkey($2.99 with no coupons)...and I paid $9.73 in tax!!! So it makes sense.

It was fun running into some of my readers!!! Looks like they were having as much fun saving as me!!! Nice to meet you!!!

How do I organize for a shopping trip?

Today I have been preparing for this week's GREAT ad. While doing so, it occurred to me that this would be a great time to share with you just how I organize for a shopping trip.

I have matched up all of my coupons(I HEART PUBLIX) and have placed them in an envelope. The coupon envelope goes in a large folder with my Publix.com printed grocery list and hard ad copy. I will occasionally carry any rebate paperwork that I may be buying qualifying items for on that trip(to make sure I get the exact item).
Pen, calculator...

I am currently not clipping each and every coupon...instead I am filing inserts. We shall see how this goes...

Bargain Buggy Minute! Thank you!

Why is the Bargain Buggy different than other frugal deal sites?

Each and every deal that I post here I have done myself...printed myself, purchased myself, etc...I pass deals on to you all after I have tested them myself. Deals that I feel like my friends would like. YOU! I post pictures of my trips as little bits of encouragement!

I scour a BUNCH of sites to find deals that will work in our area. I try to pick out the best of the best, try them myself and then pass them on to you. There are some really GREAT deal finders out there!!! I try and link to my favorites.

I am so happy that many of you are following right along with me. I love getting kind messages--even text messages and phone calls about NEW, HOT deals! :) We are all working towards the same goal!!!

I am saving a lot of money...the blog and my friends provide great encouragement for me to keep doing it. SO THANK YOU!!!

Special thanks to Eastern Shore Mom for being my deal finding, crazy coupon shopping, blogging, tap, tap, tappin' friend! :)
